IC INFORMATION
PREINCARNATION
Name: Akande Ogundimu - aka "Doomfist"
Canon: Overwatch
Age: 45
Species: Human (cybernetically enhanced)
Appearance: The world knew Akande Ogundimu - AKA Doomfist -as a fearsome villain, a terrorist set out to plunge it in to a war. Tall, built, and imposing, he wore a cybernetic gauntlet from which he took his alias (a la Green Lantern) that was capable of leveling a skyscraper with a single punch. The rest of his body, too, had been cybernetically enhanced, after his right arm had been amputated during the Omnic Crisis as a result of getting caught in some crossfire. He didn't always wear his warpaint, and could absolutely pull off a suit.
History: Doomfist comes from a world recovering from a great crisis in which omnics - created robotic beings - rose up against humanity. It ended in a tremulous truce, and only through the creation of Overwatch - a global peacekeeping force.

Akande himself, however, comes from a wealthy family who specialized in prosthetics. Never knowing true want or need, while he was intelligent and charismatic enough to assist in the family business, he was free to pursue his passion of fighting. Devoting himself to self improvement and forever pushing himself to become stronger, better, he moved in to competitive martial arts. He was poised to have a grand career, but it was cut tragically short when - during that aforementioned Omnic Crisis - he lost his arm. Due to his family and connections (and company), he was able to receive a top of the line prosthetic for it; however, this disqualified him from his passion, and he was at a loss.

At this point, the current wielder of the Doomfist gauntlet - Akinjide Adeyemi - recruited him as a protegee, and under him Akande learned more than just fighting. He learned the life of a mercenary, and, more importantly, he learned of Talon; a secret global organization meant to guide it they way they wanted. And when the time was right, when he had the opportunity, he killed his mentor and took his gauntlet and name, and quickly rose through Talon's ranks until he reached its council.

At this point, he was taken down by a group of Overwatch agents; though he was able to overpower two, the third - a genetically engineered gorilla named Winston - matched and in fact surpassed his strength. Akande was thrust in to a maximum security prison, where he monitored the world and prepared for the right time to make his escape. Years later, that time came, and he - literally - punched his way out of his cell. After being picked up by another council member, a former member of Overwatch's black-ops and one of the few he had a shred of respect for, he quickly took actions to re-secure his place at the council - and the direction of the council, as it had taken to simply amassing wealth. And, well, he couldn't have that. In fact, the first words he said when he sat back down?

"Let's start a war."

REINCARNATION
Name: Jacob Petty
Age: 34
Appearance: I'll be using Morris Chestnut as a PB. He's not nearly as built as Akande is/was, but that could be explained to the fact that he hasn't been training as a fighter for his entire life. (But I do have a handy pic of him buffed up.) He's still fairly tall, though not quite as much as his preincarnation.
History: Jacob's life is far, far different than Akande's was. For one, he wasn't born in to luxury; instead, he's a native of Folkton. Still, he had big dreams, and gladly moved to the city for his final education- but it was only in secondary that he realized he enjoyed tutoring and really started to consider teaching as a profession.

Since then, he's taken to it like a duck to water. He may tease the Moss Manors a little more than his fellow Folktons, but at this point he really considers himself Mossgate as opposed to part of that feud. Especially when, after a car accident, his then-current set of students formed a temporary truce and all went to visit him in the hospital together. It touched him deeply, reaffirming his devotion to them, and helped him bounce back when it looked as though he had permanent damage to his arm.

(It was, in fact, his First Echo. To this day, he has limited use out of it.)

All in all, though, Jacob's life has been rather simple. He's never had any major life-changing experiences, and has no siblings to have gone through them for him. Sure, he's had his ups and downs, but he would call himself a simple man with a simple life.

First Echo: A few years ago, Jacob broke his arm in a car accident. The trauma echoed Akande's own damage to his arm, which resulted in its amputation. Here, they were able to save the arm, but there's lingering nerve damage no doctor has been able to treat successfully. That's because the nerves have started to turn cybernetic; the beginning of its transformation in to the advanced prosthetic. When the game starts, the resulting echo will renable his arm, but only to normal functionality; there will have to be another one in the future to start giving enhanced strength/durability to it.

PERSONALITY
Pre-Incarnation Personality: Akande was a charismatic yet ruthless man. There's a saying that could be used to describe his aura; obey him, and he would make you a king. Defy him, and he would smite you as a god. But another one that described him, the very mantra which defined him?

"Only through conflict do we evolve."

Akande saw every obstacle as an opportunity for growth. Every setback, a lesson. Which, in itself, isn't necessarily a bad mindset to have; however, he was obsessed with this, even going so far as to seek to plunge the world itself in to war to force it to grow stronger. He held no tolerance for the weak, unless they were on the path to become strong; the complacent he despised, the cowards he had no qualms about killing. Civilians? Fodder. He would go through anyone and everyone in his path for power, ever searching, ever questing, ever pushing.

At the same time, though, he was an extremely intelligent and charismatic man. He understood that power was nothing if you didn't know how to use it, and that even David could take down Goliath with the proper application of force. He did his best to not underestimate anyone, even his enemies; especially his enemies. He sought to understand them, their methods, and their tools- anything he could use against them if needed. And he had very, very few allies - because he understood, from personal experience, that your 'friends' could turn on you at any time. And that there wasn't necessarily any hard feelings about it; it was just a matter of evolution.

The strong survived. The weak did not.

While he had an appreciation for the finer things in life - and a certain expectation, seeing as he was born in luxury and was in a position to keep it for most of his life - Akande had no greater pleasure than being in the middle of combat. Whether it was as a display of power meant to make a statement, or against those who sought to bring him down - well, he may or may not have showed much emotion depending on how he was feeling (he was very, very good at keeping a straight face, and did so more often than not - emotions, after all, could be used against you, and the warrior who lost his head often ended up dead), but he enjoyed it nonetheless. How could he not?

In the end, though, the meaning of life was to attain power, to evolve - so you would be remembered. Part of Akande's obsession laid in the fact that you didn't necessarily remember the losers of wars; you remembered the winners. And that many, many innovations had come from war; therefore, in his twisted worldview, war was good. And his desire to plunge the world in to one like it had never before seen was only for it's own good, to rid itself of the week - and give the strong a chance to truly shine.

Any differences?: While Jacob shares Akande's passion for self-improvement, he's certainly not got such a warped sense of the world. To him, 'survival of the fittest' means being adaptable, not strong; yes, strength is important, strength of character more so, but humans are meant to work together, not to stomp on everyone else as they rise to the top. He's a firm believer of equal rights and freedoms for all, and has a strong 'live and let live' sense of the world. As long as what he's doing isn't harming anyone, it's not necessarily their business. And the same with others; as long as they're happy, then more power to them.

Now, happiness comes in many forms, and it can be self destructive; that's different, and that's hurting yourself. And Jacob has a bit of a weakness for that, specifically in kids; if he sees a problem child, he's poised to at least position himself to be a mentor if needed. Still, he can only offer his hand - they have to take it. He can't help someone who won't help themselves, and, in a sense, he won't. He shares that with Akande, as well; you need to take the first step to pull yourself out of a hole. If you can't even make the effort to do that, well...

Akande wouldn't give tools. Jacob would, and show you how to use them, but he still won't do it for you. Same with teaching; he's there to show you the way, show you the knowledge, but you still need to study and put forth the effort.

In terms of his personal life, he's fairly confident in himself, though he does recognize he has a bit of a gambling problem. It's mostly that he doesn't know what else to spend his money on, though; he has no family (other than his parents), and while he has a good few friends, has nothing really else to spend things on. He's content - no need to rise up any further, one might even call him that hated complacent that his former self so despised. But he's never been in a position where he's found a true passion - other than that feel-good of helping shape the next generation - and thus has never found that self-drive. Sure, he can get motivated, but it's not an obsession for him.

Abilities:
  • Doomfist Gauntlet
    • The Doomfist gauntlet enhanced his strength, customized to integrate flawlessly with his cybernetics. He was able to deliver rocket-like punches with them, enough to destroy buildings in a single fully-charged strike.
    • It also allowed him to make even more superhuman leaps; his body was mostly enhanced to take the damage. The gauntlet was meant to help him dish it out, and that included maneuverability.
    • The gauntlet also had within it a shield generation system, giving him protection in the heat of battle. The more power he exerted, the stronger the shields would be - though they would fade over time.
  • Cybernetically Enhanced Body
    • His fully prosthetic right arm wasn't his only upgrade. Akande enhanced his body to withstand further trauma, including the sort inflicted from when he was utilizing the sheer power of the Doomfist gauntlet.
    • Along with the durability, he also had superhuman strength due to them, able to make mighty leaps and to - even without his gauntlet - punch through steel and stone.
    • As a backup to his gauntlet, when he went in to battle, Akande had a hand cannon installed in to his left hand. A short-range burst, it wasn't overly accurate at range, but did regenerate its own ammunition from the energy expended in combat.
  • Master Martial Artist
    • Akande was a skilled martial artist, poised to become one of the masters in the world when he was still competing. At this point, he may very well be one of the best hand-to-hand fighters in his world.
    • He's mastered numerous forms, ranging from traditional African such as Dambe and Gidigbo to wrestling, boxing, karate, and other such. He incorporated them in to his own, and had an expert ability to read opponents and counter them with his sheer speed and strength.
